Job Summary:
A Sales Executive is responsible for selling our services to customers. They are to focus on selling Rock City’s services over the phone and through other forms of communication such as email. Sales Representatives are responsible for prospecting, communication, quoting, developing, operating, and maintaining their customer accounts.
Responsibilities of a Sales Executive:
- Use Salesforce and Zoom Info for prospecting and following up with potential customers
- Manage and take ownership of your own book of business
- Work with our Carrier Sales team to book and track customer shipment requests
- Sell Rock City Logistics services to customers such as truckload, LTL, specialized flatbed, reefer, expedite, drayage, and international freight forwarding via ocean and air
- Make daily sales calls with an open mind, good energy, and a positive attitude
- Be open to coaching and continuous learning, as the logistics industry is always changing
- Achieve your sales targets and develop new business through effective selling of our services to new and existing customers
- Prospect for leads and build a pipeline, through a variety of techniques
- Negotiate with customers to secure profitable rates and client satisfaction
- Grow and maintain relationships with customers to uncover new opportunities within current customers
- Build rapport and establish long term relationships with customers
- Maintain a strong understanding of the industry
- Reach agreed upon sales targets by the deadline
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints
- Have fun interacting and building relationships with your fellow Rock City Logistics teammates
Qualifications of a Sales Executive:
- Prior sales, operations or customer service experience preferred
- Experience and working knowledge of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems
- Strong negotiation skills – persuasiveness, aggressiveness, confidence
- Efficient time management skills with the ability to recognize and prioritize profitable opportunities
- Strong relationship building skills and the ability to be a team player while working independently
- Effective and professional communication skills and strong customer service skills
- Confident decision-making skills, problem solving ability, issue resolution skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients

Job Type: Full-time working on site at our Southfield, MI office 8AM to 5PM
Pay: $42,500.00 base salary plus an unlimited commission structure
